What is Dichlor for swimming pools?

Dichlor is the abbreviated term for dichloroisocyanuric acid.  Dichlor is a chemical compound usually present as an active ingredient among bactericides and cleaning agents.  This compound acts as an oxidizer, which reacts to form a Hypochlorous acid when added to water.  Dichlor can be found in some commercial bleach products.
