What aore PVC Pipes for swimming pools?

PVC pipes, most often made with polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, or polypropylene, is an economical piping option for transporting gases and liquids.  The rigidity of PVC pipes can be made softer and more flexible by the addition of plasticizers like phthalates.  The raw material PVC naturally is chemically resistant across a wide range of operating temperatures, and can withstand high flow pressures.  This translates into a long life and decreased cost of pipe maintenance, compared to other piping options like copper or ductile iron.  PVC plastic pipes are widely used in the construction sector, as they are cheaper and often more durable.  They are relatively easy to install, and require fewer tools and equipment than metal piping.

As older swimming pools may have copper pipes which may corrode and introduce copper into the pool water, PVC pipes are a preferred method of piping for modern swimming pools.  Not only do they resist the chemical demands of swimming pool water, they do not introduce any contaminates or chemicals back into the water.
