What are above ground pools?

Above ground pools, as the name suggests, is a kind of swimming pool particularly built above the ground.  Like a regular swimming pool, it is made from various materials, like concrete, plastic, metal, and fiberglass.  Unlike standard below-ground pools, above ground pools are generally private, and are usually smaller than public pools, thus cheaper to build.  These types of pools are commonly situated in backyards and gardens of big homes, and serve as a relaxation spot for family members and friends.

What to consider when getting an in-ground pool:

In some countries, particularly the more advanced ones, there are requirements for building above ground pools. This is to ensure a level of security and protection to the swimmers using the pool, most especially to young children who may wander around unguarded.  Pool fencing is required, and the pool has to be situated in an area where visual monitoring is possible.  To answer such questions on security, some above ground pools can be assembled and disassembled after a certain season.  For these types of pools, plastic is the most common material used as it is durable, yet easy to carry and store.
